We are excited that you will be joining us here at the Ames Center for dance competitions this year.

Animals - Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited in the Ames Center with the exception of trained service animals and service animals in training for guests with disabilities. Service animals are welcome inside the venue, but must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times.
Bag Checks – The Ames Center reserves the right to perform a bag check on any bag entering the facility.
Cameras/Photography - For the safety of your children and the protection of choreography, absolutely NO videotaping or photography is allowed at the competition. The competition will have a professional photographer and videographer at the event, and photographs and videos will be available for purchase.
Coolers – No coolers of any kind will be allowed in to the building.
Concessions – The Ames Center offers a wide variety of food and beverage items for our guests’ enjoyment including gluten free and vegetarian options. Download our app, Appetize (and select Ames Center from the venues list) to order ahead and eliminate standing in line. No outside food or beverage will be allowed.
Disturbances - All Guests must maintain reasonable and appropriate behavior at all times. Guests using offensive language or engaging in disorderly conduct may be ejected from the facility. Disturbances include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Standing on chairs
-Violation of the local, state, and federal laws and statues
-Willfully and maliciously disturbing another Guest / employee with loud and unreasonable noise
-Using profanity and/or offensive words, which are likely to provoke a violent reaction from others
Lost and Found - During an event, guests should ask a staff member to inquire about lost items. After an event, please contact the Main Office at 952-895-4680 with a description of the item and the date the item was lost. The Ames Center assumes no responsibility for items lost at events.
Parking - There is ample free parking available for short term parking near the venue. There are two large parking structures within 1 block from Ames Center and on-street parking. The Heart of the City Parking Deck has 350 spaces and is located on the North side of the building. The Heart of City Parking Garage has an additional 300 spaces and is located to the South of the building. Trucks and trailers may park in the designated parking on Pilsbury Avenue. Please ensure you are not parking illegally, on private property, or in another business’ dedicated parking as you may be issued a citation or towed. The Ames Center assumes no liability for parking infractions or enforcement.
Props – Props are to be loaded in through the loading dock only. Only props that will be utilized that day may be loaded in. Any props left at the end of a day will be removed from the facility.
Outside Food & Beverage – No outside food or beverage of any kind is allowed in the Ames Center. This includes, but is not limited to coffee, sandwiches, packaged snacks; it extends to homemade items, as well as purchased items. Should you be in need of accommodations, please contact the Sales & Event Manager prior to the competition at 952-895-4679.
Restaurants – There are many wonderful restaurants located near the Ames Center. Visit our website or any ask any staff member, for more information. Please enjoy your food at the restaurant, as outside food and beverage will not be allowed in the building.
Seating – There is ample seating in the Main Hall to watch the competition. We ask that you do not save seats or sit or stand in the aisles or doorways.
Signs/Banners/Posters– We encourage your studio spirit during competitions. Please make sure to use only Blue Painters Tape to hang your signs. Any signs/banners/posters interpreted as offensive will be removed.
