About Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota
Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota (TCB) is an innovative ballet company that creates high-quality, professional performances and meaningful educational opportunities for audiences and participants alike. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, TCB introduces and promotes the artistry, discipline and athleticism of ballet and other dance forms to Minnesota communities, through performances, educational and interactive programs, scholarship awards, and collaborative artistic events. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and driven by the energy and efforts of dedicated parents, students, volunteers and community sponsors, TCB continues to develop a variety of community outreach initiatives, offering both its participants and audiences the opportunity to experience the enriching world of dance. As part of its mission, TCB augments its core company of professional dancers and apprentices with area dance students, providing memorable performance opportunities for youth of all ages and levels to perform in professional productions alongside professional dancers, using appropriate choreography in a way that augments and enhances the performances. TCB’s official school, rehearsal and administrative home is at the state-of-the-art facilities of Ballet Royale Minnesota, widely recognized as one of Minnesota’s foremost professional ballet academies, and the first classical ballet academy to be built, with all new construction, in the Twin Cities/seven county metropolitan area. An emerging ballet company, Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota is making a cultural mark in the metro area by writing and creating original full-length ballets in the tradition of the classic story ballets— a rare and almost lost art. TCB is proud to be the resident dance company of the south metro’s premier professional theater, the Ames Center.
